Texting- Appointment Reminder

MJOG-Website-Logo-copyThe surgery is offering text reminders to patients. We will text you your apppointment reminder 2 days before your appointment giving you time to cancel if you no longer require the appointment. If you wish to opt out of this service please complete a form which can be found at the reception desk at any site of Coastal Medical Group or click the printable version just below. So far, since starting the text appointment reminders we have found that our unattended appointments have reduced significantly and would like to thank all the patients for using this service.

However, the service will only work if patients keep their contact information up to date, so remember to tell us of any change in your mobile number!

* For confidentially reasons we will not be texting appointment reminders for anyone under 16 years of age.

Please note we will only send these text reminders between 10am and 5pm. Please be aware that if your phone is unable to accept the text for various reasons, ie. switched off or no network coverage. Then you will recieve the text when your phone is next able to, so it may fall outside of the time the text was originally sent.

Cancelling your appointment

Once you have recieved your text reminder you now have the option to text back to a designated number to cancel your appointment. Simply text the word CANCEL and the system will automatically cancel your appointment from the clinical system. If you start the text with anything other than CANCEL, the system will not cancel the appointment.

Please be aware the texts we recieve back for cancelling are not monitored so please do not use this as a method of contacting the practice for anything other than cancelling the appointment that you have booked.
